What's up for me...
Up to now I haven't shared too much personal stuff on this blog. Well, since I believe in authenticity and transparency, let me share what's going on. Let me preface by saying I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm simply sharing what is. For those of you who know me personally, you know I'm pretty upbeat and that's just how I am and plan to continue to be. And from all of this (and previous life lessons and training) is where I draw my strength and my coaching and training skills and desire to help others.
My husband and I at The Queen's Medical Center. I had to wear a mask to keep from giving him any germs.
Back in Nov 2013--the day before Thanksgiving--my world shifted as my husband was diagnosed with leukemia. He spent two months in the hospital undergoing heavy-duty chemotherapy which put him into remission. We enjoyed six remission-free weeks at home until tests showed the leukemia had returned. So he's currently back in the hospital once again undergoing chemotherapy. The plan is once he's back in remission, we'll travel to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance for a bone marrow transplant. (Hawaii does not have any facilities for a bone marrow transplant.) Wonderfully, not one but TWO donor matches who have been found. (If you are a 23 year-old woman or a 38 year-old man who registered with the national Bone Marrow Registry--you could be the person who is giving my husband a chance to be cured!) The bone marrow transplant and recovery time will see us staying in Seattle for about six months. The procedure is not without risks, but it's what we must do. Here's a link to a website we created to keep people updated with details on his progress and let you know how we are doing and how you might be able to help: Aloha Caring for Tony & Kathy
For those who have asked how I'm doing--I'm fine and staying focused. I had already streamlined my schedule several months ago and so I've just made some additional adjustments to give me even more flexibility. I prefer to stay just busy enough which is very therapeutic for me, so don't be surprised that I'm tackling some projects, working with coaching clients, and continuing to do what I normally do.

What's in the works--I'm currently working on two books! One is a personal development book based on the coaching and training I provide for my clients. I want it to be a fairly quick read with simple tools that you can put to use right away. The second book is a book of inspirational stories and wisdom from women around the world. If you have a story or know of someone with an inspirational story, please submit! You can read more about it here: Submit Your Story
In addition to working on these books, I'm creating some additional products and developing online training via webinars and downloads. I hope you'll stay tuned!
I'm continuing to work with coaching clients (which is one of my favorite activities)! So if you or anyone you know might be interested, the best way to get started is to fill out this form for a Complimentary Coaching Consultation
So that's it in a nutshell. Again, I'm good! Someone once asked me how I can be so calm and strong through all of this and I know it's because of the Success Principles and personal-development training I've had which taught me powerful lessons about myself and my inner resources. I've also got a great support system, a strong faith, and I'm very thankful for all the people who have encircled my family with love, support, healing energy, and heartfelt prayers. We are so grateful.
Thank you for being here! Hugs and aloha!! ~Kathy
