Shift the way you think!
As I've been coaching and training over the years, here are the thought processes I try to get people to realize. If you want to make major shifts in your life, you have to shift the way you think about things.
For example...balance. Everyone wants more balance in their lives. But balance implies you have two things of equal weight. Life isn't like that. We have multiple things we're constantly juggling. So the best you can do is learn to put your life in harmony with all you have going on. You're the melody. Strive for harmony to surround you.
Finding direction is what will give you the energy to get out of bed in the morning. You're not suffering from a lack of motivation--it's lack of direction. You need that guiding light, that inner force to move you forward. When you have direction--combined with purpose and passion--you'll have the motivation to get you where you need to go.
And about happiness. I think we've been lulled into thinking that finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is the ultimate goal. But in reality, that pot of gold will always be elusive. A better strategy is to find the flow and rhythm of your life. Getting into flow with the universe is like tapping into a massive energy field. It's like getting into a jetstream of goodness.
The past several weeks have been one of massively happy change for me--to include letting go of my stress-filled day job and focusing on my coaching and corporate training; moving away from drama and toxic people; and allowing new and exciting experiences to unfold. Just last night I had a phone call that came completely out of the blue, but was an answer to something I'd been silently seeking. Wonderful people and new opportunities keep getting put in my path. I know that all of the goodness happening right now is a result of shifting my thoughts from trying to be happier, to one of being in flow and perfect alignment with my purpose and service to others.
I hope you find or have found your flow!
