Got a good ghost story?
When was the last time something gave you "chicken skin" (as we call it here in Hawai‘i) otherwise known as goosebumps or chills? If you have a good story, I’d love to hear about it during our Campfire Ghost Stories event. Details below.
I'll generally get chicken skin when I'm doing a reading for someone and the spirit guides want me to make sure the person is really listening to the message. I call it a "foot-stomp" message. For me, the goosebumps generally start at my ankles and progress up my legs--or sometimes my whole body. That's my sign to make sure the person I'm reading for really heard and acknowledged what's being said. Sometimes the person also gets a tingly feeling.
The message isn't dire. It's usually a heartfelt reminder for the person to remember that they're not alone. That they're surrounded by loved ones and friends (both deceased and living), and to remember their own inherent strengths. Other times the message is to be present and be on the lookout for new opportunities that are coming their way. Sometimes I'm shown a personal sign, symbol, or image that has significance for that individual and it's something they've held for years--they just needed a reminder.
Or the chicken skin comes just to affirm that a spirit is present. I was recently doing training for a client who is also developing her own intuitive abilities. As we were talking, the lights on a nearby floor lamp with three globes on it began to flicker. One of the globes went completely off--while the other two stayed lit. My client had an immediate sense of who was present--a recently deceased and very much loved relative--and she asked him to please turn the light back on.
The light came back on.
As we were talking, the lights continued to turn on and off or flicker. I told her to simply tell the spirit that we were having a conversation and to please leave for now. She told him he was being distracting and she'd connect with him tomorrow. And the flickering stopped. The next day she checked the lamp for any loose bulbs or wires. There was nothing wrong with the lamp. It was working perfectly.
I don't get chicken skin any other times except when a spirit or guide is making its presence known to me. Sometimes it surprises me how strong the presence is, but it's never meant to frighten or intimidate. The goosebumps are there to let me know that there's an important message to be passed along.
Have you ever experienced chicken skin and what was it about for you?
If you have, I’d love to hear about it.

No ghost story of your own? Come anyway. Pull up a chair and listen in. Sometimes the best part of sitting around the campfire is hearing everyone else’s stories and eating s'mores.
This isn’t about proving whether ghosts are real or explaining away anyone’s experience. It’s simply an evening of true stories from people who experienced something they’ve never quite forgotten…
