Find Some Quiet Time

I usually walk the lagoons near my house in the morning, but didn't get a chance to today. So I decided to take a walk in the evening. There is definitely a difference! This is just a quick shot from my cellphone, I definitely need to get my big camera out.

A different group of people show up in the evenings. Mornings are mostly filled with people trying to get their power walks done while clutching their cappuccinos; the yoga class is stretched out in various poses; and you can see vacationers taking selfies and sending pics back to their jealous office-mates.

The evening has a different vibe. Lots of people taking family self-portraits--one family in particular had two little girls wearing pink tutus and mom was trying to get everyone in position (dad was setting up the camera) and then mom plopped down in the middle of them wearing her own pink puffy tutu. Evenings are for the romantic strollers. Lots of people walking hand in hand--an elderly Japanese couple probably in their 80's were lovingly enjoying the evening air together. So delightful to see that! And then there were lots of people just sitting on the beach waiting for the sunset show. It didn't disappoint.

I love my walks because it gives me a chance to be in my own little world despite anyone else being around. It's where I get creative and the best ideas seem to develop. I'm always refreshed and reenergized afterwards.

If you don't have a routine to refocus and reset yourself, maybe it's time you started one?
