Goal-Setting: The Three Most Important Questions You Need to Ask Yourself
As everyone's focus is now turning to a fresh New Year and goal-setting, here are the three most important questions you need to ask yourself.
1. What do you want?
The main reasons people don't actually achieve their goals is because the goals aren't well-defined and their vision is unclear. When you can get clear on what you want and why you really want it--what will the achievement of this goal really do for you--your thoughts and actions become better aligned.
2. How bad do you want it?
On a scale of 1-10 (10 being 100% committed to doing whatever it takes), just how bad do you really want to achieve your goal and make changes in your life? If your answer is less than a 10, re-evaluate if this is something you really want and are willing to invest your time to accomplish.
3. What's holding you back?
This is the "get-real" question and answer. Sometimes what's holding you back isn't as big of a problem as you think it is. Figure out what you need to do, who you need to ask for help, where you need to get more information--and get moving!
Make this the year you actually achieve your goals and stick to your resolutions by asking yourself these three important questions and being 100% honest with your answers. Then work out your plan and get into action. Action creates movement, movement leads to momentum, and momentum will get you to your goals.
