Did you know that a major energy drain is self-sabotage?

Self-sabotage involves behaviors or thoughts that keep you away from what you desire most in life. Self-sabotage keeps you stuck. You fight to get ahead, but then you let a self-sabotaging behavior take over again. The constant back-and-forth battle is mentally and emotionally exhausting. It's like swimming against the current (and you’re not a trout).

Part of the problem is not realizing how self-sabotage is showing up. Some self-sabotaging behaviors are obvious. (Ate the cake, busted the diet...) Others are very subtle and over time the effects of subtle sabotage are cumulative, so it's no wonder we feel out of energy...

Once you start recognizing the signs of sneaky self-sabotage, then you can work on turning it around and start gaining back your energy.

  • Procrastination

  • Negative self-talk/negative thinking

  • Perfectionism (can’t act until the right time or until your skills are perfect)

  • Lack of commitment

  • Lack of consistency

  • Settling for the status quo

  • Overplanning

  • Searching for inspiration

  • Not speaking up

  • Indecisiveness
