Balance - It's An Inside Job
Over the years I've worked with a lot of people who are trying to achieve more balance in their lives. They've done things to include looking for time and energy leaks in their schedule, cutting out unnecessary activities, streamlining the work they do, delegating tasks, finding shortcuts, and letting calls go to voicemail.
Sound familiar? But what often happens is there's a tendency to fall back into old habits and once again things get out of balance. That's because all the balance work was being done on the outside...
The most successful and long-lasting way I've found to help people achieve more balance (and find more energy and happiness) is by first balancing what's inside-- create alignment with thoughts and purpose, followed by action.
When you become better at managing the thoughts you think, knowing and working in your purpose, and taking meaningful action, that's when you'll start to achieve true balance.
Three things you can do today to start creating more balance in your life:
1. Manage your mindset. Find out what's behind the negative self-talk and limiting behaviors. Or maybe you know, but do know what to do about it? (Hint: It’s more than just deciding to have a positive attitude.) In working with one client, we discovered that his self-sabotage began with four words he was told in childhood. He carried this subconscious (false) belief into adulthood where it had been affecting the success of his business. Once he realized the source of his self-limiting behavior, he was able to make conscious and highly successful changes.
2. Uncover your purpose. When you know your purpose and passion, everything falls more easily into place. Purpose and passion is truly at the heart of all. Purpose is the reason people get up in the morning—it’s what activates us, moves us, reminds us to keep moving forward in the right direction. Do you know your purpose?
3. Take meaningful action. Ask yourself if what you're doing is getting you closer to your goal, or is it just busywork and an excuse to keep you from doing what you really need to focus on. (If you're organizing your files for the umpteenth time, it's time to just stop.) If you're not sure how to start--just start!!!! Action creates movement, movement creates momentum and momentum will get you closer to your goal.
And if you need help in doing any of these things, this is what I do on a Breakthrough Call. There's no judgment, just clarity and re-focus. If you're tired of staying stuck, let's jump on a call. My goal and sincere reason for being here is to help other people move forward in their lives...it's my way of using the experience I've gained and paying back all the people who helped me over the years. I warmly invite you to have a breakthrough—a lightbulb moment! Let's jump on a call: http://kathleendavenport.com/free-breakthrough-call
