Go Out and Be Great!

I'll admit I'm a football fan. Anyone else? I love watching the KC Chiefs because "they lean on each other and encourage each other to go out and be great..."

There's a very short viral video going around from a sideline exchange after one player fumbled the ball resulting in the other team scoring. (This was a championship playoff game and would determine who would go to the Super Bowl, so the stakes were very, very high.) Instead of allowing the player to be miserable and embarrassed, two teammates immediately went over to lift him up with great words of encouragement.

(There are....) "a lot of plays yet to be made."

"Be you. You're gonna make a play this game! Let's go! We've been here. Be us!"

Instead of shutting him out, he was given the ball again and the discouraged player went on to make multiple great plays during the rest of the game, to include a touchdown. Chiefs went on to win the game.

"That's how you handle adversity. You smack it right in the mouth."

That's the kind of leadership and teamwork we need more of today--and a lesson for the rest of us to put our heads up and keep going! There's a lot of plays yet to be made.

Cheering for you!
