Stepping Up or Starting Over

Hi Everyone!

I'm back up and running...well, maybe not running or even walking fast... Doc took a look at my foot and ankle yesterday and he sent me for x-rays. Haven't heard back yet from the radiologist, but the doc thinks it may just be a bad sprain. (I had a bad fall a few weeks ago.) He reminded me that this type of injury generally takes 4-6 weeks to heal and I should just stay off my feet as much as possible. Admittedly, I'm not very patient and not very good at sitting still...so the struggle is real!

Thank you for all your good thoughts and well-wishes!

While I had some down time, it gave me the opportunity to think about the most frequent questions/concerns I get asked and how I could best answer these for you.

The most common questions/concerns are (in no particular order):

"I need help figuring out who I really am."

"I'm not where I thought I'd be at this stage of my life..."

"I need more motivation."

"I need more focus."

"I want more balance in my life."

“I’m so stressed.”

"I want to take my business to a new level."

"I need help finding my next chapter."

"How do I get more in touch with my intuition?"

What all of these questions seem to boil down to is having the ability to know one's self on a deeper level and successfully step up or start over. No one wants to go backwards or repeat past mistakes. That's time, energy, and money wasted. So what to do? And how do you find the strength and willpower to do it?

As I thought about how I've best been able to answer these concerns, it really comes down to three key things:

• Be Present

• Be In Your Power

• Be In Gratitude

These are also the fundamentals for recharging your career, reenergizing your life, and rekindling your spirit.

Within each of these keys is a number of shifts and action steps that have to happen. On the surface, they sound simple. And once you "get" them and start applying them to your life, you'll notice how the world around you shifts and re-calibrates. But change is not always easy. It's sort of like this quote I recently heard while watching a championship golf tournament:

"Golf is simple. It's just not easy."

Let me give you a quick overview of these three keys:

Be Present. Learn how to be in the moment. So often we’re stressed, depressed, and worried because we’re not living in the present. It can best be summed up in this quote I read: "If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the moment.” The best thing you can know is this--you can only control where you are right now--today. So start taking the steps and making the choices that will determine tomorrow’s outcomes.

Be In Your Power. This is the area where you can make the most magic happen. Being in your power is about strengthening your core and building mental muscle. You need this muscle to get you from where you are to where you want to be--and on a quicker, more direct route. Being in your power is about being authentically you and the ability to thrive in your own skin. It's about knowing what makes you tick, why you tend to do what you do, why you are the way you are. It's about knowing your blindspots, understanding your communication style, and managing your mindset. It’s about speaking your truth, setting boundaries. It's about knowing deeply who you are and honoring your experience. It's about developing and knowing how to use your foundational blueprint (a program I've developed) to fully stand in your power.

Be In Gratitude. Research shows that gratitude is one of the highest emotional states you can be in. Learning how to practice gratitude and appreciation is a foundational key to success.
